HANDMADE WITH LOVE
LOVE IT a small screen and handprinting studio in heart of Amsterdam and was founded by Ingrid. She went to art school and has had a long career as stylist in advertisements. Some adventures later, a Fairytale (wholesale) Shop , ISH.Amsterdam with hand painted canvas products ( presently known as OHWOW ), she found a way to combine all the things she loved; painting, drawing, fabric design & sewing . You can find Ingrid on Instagram at @loveitdesign.nl and @ingridkorteknie
Love it's main stockist is Stephen & Penelope in Amsterdam, who carry the Niko bags which are designed exclusively for them. Love it bags can also be found at Do Ewe Knit, New Jersey (US) , My Sister Knits, Fort Collins ( US), Zauberwiese, Harrislee (DE) & Loop London (UK), Espace Tricot ,Montreal (CA) Skeinsisters, Sydney (AU)
The project bags are made for crafters and made with raw, untreated canvas and GOTS certified cotton. The inks are water based and Love it uses her imaginative and adveturous mind to find ever new ways of how to to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible. From reusing (Scrap bags) and using as little material as possible during the print process to making something beautiful from even the smallest printed scraps. It is Love it's ambition to create a product that is long lasting and will become a good friend. A friend you want to keep forever. And if you live in Amsterdam you can contribute by picking up your purchase at the studio. And of course you will get a free tour and a cupp'a.
Love it believes in raw, untreated canvas that stands upright by itself. It is not only excellent for the painting and printing process (Ingrid is a passionate painter) - it also facilitates comfortable knitting/crocheting hours. Your yarn can float undesturbed from the craftbag to the needles.
Love it also fimrly believe in the unlined craft bag. The yarnball in your bag can unspool smoothly, no friction and no searching for items in the folds of the lining. Leaving the lining also makes our bags surprisingy lightweight while being sturdy and durable. last but not least it also contributes to the bags' sustanability.
Being a small brand means Love it has to outsource were possible and doing this with a social focus. The brand new silk screens were made by social workspace De Zeefdrukmakers. This Amsterdam based work space gives a stable, save working environment to 50 people who want to turn a page in their live and working schedules arms them with knowledge and self confidence to reintegrate. Love it has been working with de Zeefdrukmakers since the very first Niko bags in 2019
PROJECTS with (knitting) partners
The Tyvek Zipp it's received a great make-over and changed into canvas and Julia added the gorgeous Tulip design.
Blue Bags for Breidagen. Marion makes wonderful ceramic Delft Blue knitting bowls and wanted to add Blue Project bags for the Breidagen Fair 2021 in Zwolle
Love it bags can be hand- and machine washed at up to 30 decrees Celsius. Make sure to remove any leather pulls and to use a mild, liquid detergent and dry the bags lying flat. Best would be to soak the bag in cold water for a few hours.. to avoid shrinking. The bags can be ironed & pressed back into shape. The heat will change the color for a few seconds..don't worry!
